Having retail therapy as an addiction can be expensive! However, over the last month, there has been some lovely products released and I've been given some samples of products so I thought I would give them a try.
1) The new Make-Up Revolution 'Matte Base' Foundation and powder. Foundation shade F2 and Powder shade F1, £3-£5, Superdrug
Revolution are back with a full range of matte products including matte foundations, powders and concealers in a style of different shades. The layout is very similar to the successful Conceal and Define foundation. The powder helps set your foundation perfectly and doesn't make your face look like a cake. The foundation didn't work as well for me but if you have dry skin, you've got a good chance this will be good for you. I love Revolution and them doing this was a really good idea as not all skin types match the Conceal and Define and therefore gives abit of a variety as seen in other brands.
2) Karity's 'Rose All Day' Eye Shadow Palette, £17, Beauty Bay
I brought this on the day Karity was released on Beauty Bay and it's safe to say i'm not disappointed. Karity's 'Rose All Day' palette is perfect for any girl who wants the Wednesday effect on their eyes all of the time (("On Wednesdays, we wear pink!") Mean Girls Quote there). The colours range from pinks to nudes and a couple of browns. The pigment is stunning. The best way to apply the glittery shades are either by finger or using a brush with abit of a setting spray (I use the Mac Fix+ in the scent Lavender but obviously you can use any).
3) The Body Shop 'Drops Of Youth' Drops, £26, The Body Shop
I was given this product as a sample when buying some products at The Body Shop. The 'Drops Of Youth' is something you apply to the skin after wash but before moisturiser and it is supposed to keep your skin looking young and fresh. I have been using this product with my skin care products (I use the Dermologica Clear Start range and the Revolution Beauty Superfruit Extract Serum) and I feel it has just added that extra bit of a glow to my skin. It feels so soft when you apply to your skin and isn't sticky like some formulas that I'm aware of. I would therefore recommend this product to anyone who just wants that extra bit of glow.
4) Tangle Teezers 'Wet Detangling' Hairbrush, £11, Boots
For years once washing my hair I've struggled to find a brush that will brush through my wet hair and get rid of my knots without giving me split ends. When I went to the hairdressers a couple of weeks ago, they recommended me to try the Tangle Teezer 'Wet Detangling' Hairbrush which would do exactly what I've wanted in a hairbrush for ages. I've been using it now for 3 weeks now and it has been working successfully for my hair and I've already seen a difference in the ends of my hair. My hair looks healthier!
5) Primark Eye Shadow Quads 'Berry Velvets' and 'Smoke Out', £3, Primark
These little palettes are perfect if you're travelling around or are in need of a few top-ups of your favourite shades. I thought i'd give them a go before investing in the other Primark eye shadow palettes as my experiences beforehand have not been so great. However, these little beauties are absolutely stunning! Like the Karity palette, the pigment is bold and works best with abit of a setting spray on a brush. There is 3 in the collection and I tried 'Berry Velvets' and 'Smoke Out'. I Will be buying the other one when I return to Primark to complete the collection as they're just beautiful. Each palette contains 9 shades with a mix of matte and shiny pigments.
6) Lanolips 101 Ointment Lip Balm, £10, Boots
Now this product I wish I had tried sooner than when I did! I have been watching a lot of Youtuber's recently including Imogenation and Soph (Formerly Sophdoesnails) and they have been raving about Lanolips for months. I debated since before Christmas to buy this but being on a more pricier end for a lip balm, I let the idea go. After Christmas however I decided to give in to the second thoughts and I thought i'd give it a try. Now this stuff is just fantastic! It makes my lips really hydrated and is the perfect primer before putting on a matte lipstick or a liquid lipstick. Lanolips as stated on the product is an ointment and has 101 uses. So far, I have used the product for my lips, a slight primer when my skins dry but a new use recently has been around the edges of my nose (These have been dry because of the weather changes). It's definitely worth the money.
These are my opinions on some new products I have tested. If you would like to see more of these types of posts then let me know!
P.s. Look out this week for some more blog posts. I'm sorry that the content has not been juggled recently, I've had to look after myself for a bit! I'm excited with the content to come on here!
