Teenage Skin... always a pain and if you've been on hospital med's for acne before and it comes back, it's going back to the drawing board of trialling new products. But whilst you do that, you notice your skin getting worse and your make-up is literally getting stuck to your face. To me, this is a familiar feeling and it was about time now i'm 18 to find some skincare products that will suit my normal to oily skin type.

My mum has been using a brand called Dermalogica. They are apparently 'The number one choice of skin therapists worldwide' including their own skin. I mean, when I first heard of these products, I was determined to find out more about them and find out why they were the number one choice. The brand is originated from Los Angeles in the USA and was founded in 1983. They do tonnes of products for all skin types and are becoming the next huge high end skin care brand. They have managed to reach over 80 countries and have won 324 awards.

So obviously they have a good reputation, which is something buyers want to consume because if the brands good then the products are going to be good also.

So how have I ended up trialling the Dermalogica products out?

Well that my friends, that was all thanks to the amazing ladies at Touch Health and Beauty in Bishopstoke. I absolutely love Abi and her team. They do amazing treatments including gel nails and eyebrow waxes and they sell the successful Dermalogica range. About a week and a half ago, they started to advertise for people to trial out the Dermalogica products and write a review for them of how people got on with the products. Of course being in the current situation i'm in with my skin and writing this blog, I put myself forward to have a trial.

So for the last week I have been trialling out the Dermalogica Clear Start range, which is usually given to teenagers to help with breakouts as well as those who are just starting the Dermalogica treatments like myself. I was recommended this when I had my skin review at Touch. I also set up a skin fitness plan with them which is something you can do with Dermalogica products.

The Skin Fitness Plan and Information

The Clear Start range is made up of 7 products currently.

The four products I got to test were:

1) Breakout Clearing Booster - Helps prevents breakouts spreading in the key areas of breakouts.

2) All Over Toner - Helps clear breakouts and regulates sebum production on the chest, back and face.

3) Foaming Wash - Helps clear congestion and breakouts by deeply cleansing skin without stripping it.

4) Matte Moisturiser - Helps to control oily areas of the face with a matted finish.

All four products are used twice daily, morning and night. This is so the products can maintain the beautiful skin they produce.

The Products!

Within the last week, I have found the products worked successfully for my skin type. My skin has been softer and the products have allowed my skin to maintain my makeup on my face for longer.

The foaming wash was my favourite product to use because I use a lot of makeup on my face usually and before I was finding that I wasn't getting all of the product off my face by using products. I had tried The Body Shop products, Superdrug products and other products including miscellar water and it wasn't effective but this stuff was so good at it.

Using the breakout clearing booster allowed my skin to clear up any spots, I have got a few after using these products for a week but I feel this is a more positive because it is getting rid of my spots and clearing my breakouts which is something I haven't used before and is so effective.

The toner combined with the breakout clearing booster and gave a happy and nice glow to my skin. It didn't make my skin more oily which I found surprising as I've not had a lot of luck with toners in the past.

The moisturiser was my second favourite product out of the four products I tried. I hadn't tried a matte one before which I think now is the route to go. It sat well with my foundation and primer I use and gave my face a hydrated feeling.

Overall, I really enjoyed testing the products and will now begin my journey using Dermologica. I think if I go to try the products more I would need an exfoliate to help with the breakouts.
